Byron Auten  was raised in Gaston County in the Crowders Mountain area. After graduating from Hunter Huss High School in 1994, he attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2005, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Byron married his wife Nickie in April of 2004, and they have 3 kids Alex, Isaiah and Drake. Byron began his career with GRS in April 2009 as a Direct Support Professional in an ICF home. After two years, he advanced to the role of supervisor within the same setting.
