Our mission is to support and empower individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities so they can live as respected members of their community. We believe people of all abilities, including those with the most significant disabilities, are valued and essential members of society. To achieve this, we listen to each person we serve and help them build meaningful relationships. We support individuals as they explore and develop personal, employment, recreational, and spiritual pursuits, guiding them toward greater independence and self-fulfillment.
GRS currently serves up to 83 adults.
Individuals live in one of 11 group homes, each housing three to eight residents, or in one of four small apartment communities.
Individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability or traumatic brain injury.
Services are funded through Federal and State Medicaid programs for individuals who are Medicaid-eligible, receive SSI or SSDI, and meet diagnostic criteria. Depending on the funding source and individual circumstances, there is little to no out-of-pocket cost for families.
Yes. GRS values strong family relationships and encourages ongoing connection. In some cases, families may be asked to help a new individual adjust before regular visitation begins. Visits are welcomed within the home and out in the community. The goal is to support each person’s growth, independence, and overall well-being, and that often includes the support of family.
GRS homes are located in established, family-friendly neighborhoods, and many include security cameras for added peace of mind. Staff are on-site and receive ongoing training in safety and security, both in the home and in the community. Individuals are also supported in learning safety skills, including fire drills, tornado drills, public safety awareness, and appropriate social interactions.
